Nithyananda’s alleged “leaked” phone conversation (confession) seems such a smoking gun that Dhyanapeetham has had taken it down with copyright objections multiple times many years ago, as they do with most videos critical of them.

YouTube, being easily manipulable with copyright claims, take down videos at the merest suggestion of a violation.

The conversation currently found on online is shorter. It is completely in Tamil, and even a person who has only heard Nithyananda once will recognize the person on the tape as having his unmistakable voice, style of speaking, vocabulary, accent and familiarity with Lenin and investment in the subject at hand. The person strongly indicates he was involved sexually with someone, likely Ranjitha given the timing of the conversation.

This is part of the same audio that was submitted to court. The courts had to goad Nithyananda to provide his own voice sample to verify it.

We do not link the audio file on this page for reasons that are fairly obvious! However, if you wish to, you can search for it online. 

There’s a bilingual transcript below. We’ve formatted the actual all-but-confession in bold, and it is heard on the call.

N: “Hey – I promise I won’t harm you … (pleading) I promise you I won’t give you any grief. See Dharma – I was protecting you and you were protecting me.”

D: “Mmm.”

N: “Now, you have to fear me and I have to fear you. Should it become like this dear? Forgive me.

D: “Its ok swami”

N: “No need dear. Dharma .. forgive me. No need any of this. Please forgive me.”

N: “One minute, they are taking me to the hospital. Give me a minute, I’ll stop the vehicle by the side of the road and talk.”

D:Mmm

N: “Forgive me Dharma. I am asking you for forgiveness Dhanna (voice breaks and sobs). Let’s forget whatever happened Dharma. I promise (sobs again). You yourself find a lawyer and write. I will not harm you in anyway. I, or anyone from Dhyanapeetam or anyone related to Dhyanapeetam will not harm you; I will give you this in writing, Dharma.”

D: “Mmm.”

N: “I don’t want anything else Dharma.”

N: “Dharma… Dharma… another thing Dharma, if I have harmed anyone else and if they have cried to you, I fall at their also and beg forgiveness. (another cell phone rings). One minute Dharma another phone is ringing. I will talk to them and come back to you.”

N: “There is nothing here. One extreme if you see, if I just stand up and publicly say, ‘this is my life’, it’s all over. Devotees are not going to leave me. That is another side.

N: “On one hand, what is there – If I come and tell the public straightawaywe are 2 adults, it’s our life – if I say this, the matter ends there. Devotees won’t leave me and go away.”

D: “Mmm.”

N: “That is on one hand. On other hand, people came to me only because I am a Gnani [very wise and knowledgeable person], not because I am a Sannyasi [monk or ascetic].”

D: “Mmm.”

N: “So nobody will leave me, what is there? No one will leave.’

D: “Mmm.”

N: If you see from one side, I am an enlightened person, that is why every body (public) is coming. They are not becoming just because I am a sanyasi.

N: No body is going to leave me and go. What is there

N: “Legally what can be done? When both people involved are adults, legally nothing can be done.”

D “Mmm”

N: “What problem do you think we will face legally?

D: “Mmm.”

N: “Its not as if Osho did not have [sex]. So did Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Aurobindo, and Ram Surat Kumar. I also fall into the Gnani category like them. What can be done? Don’t you understand ?”

N: “I don’t think the people will leave me and go. People won’t leave me. Do you think our devotees will leave me and go away?”

D: Hmm

N: “Public and devotees, do you think they will leave me? No need for all that to happen. Without making this a big problem, I feel we should be silent. That’s why I want to do everything silently.

So why is it important if Nithyananda had consensual sex with Ranjitha?

Well, it’s not morally wrong to have sex, obviously. In fact, if he had come right out and said it, he might have been respected, and it was only Ranjitha he was having sex with, and if he was not a sannyasi. It would probably be good for both of them!

If he was open about the fact that he was experimenting with Tantric sex from the start, and never pretended to be a Sannyasi or implied chastity in any way, he’d have stood out for honesty and sexual openness in a repressed society.

Modern hindus and younger crowds might have flocked to his Satsangs simply out of curiosity. Instead, evidence seems to indicate he lied with no remorse to his most faithful devotees, who have served him in every way they could.  And that’s why it matters.

Wouldn’t even one big lie call into question all his other claims and the court cases Nithyananda and devotees such as Ranjitha, have put out against Lenin and Arathi?

Nithyananda has been misleading you for years as also the Chennai High Court has determined he was misleading it

Does it not disturb you that Nithyananda has been lying for years about claims such as his “being 293rd head of Madurai Mutt”?

That he is still lying to you and legally harrassing those who when properly investigated seem to have been telling the truth all along for seven years now?

Why is the Video at all Relevant

The next question is: Why is the sex sleaze video with Ranjitha (as confirmed by Indias Forensic Science Laboratory) important to the court cases? The court cases against Nithyananda do not even involve Ranjitha. The video does not indicate rape.

Well, that’s the part the ashram news department likes to leave out. It is important because Ranjitha and other devotees have also filed retaliatory cases against Lenin alleging extortion using the video, among other crimes. And Lenin has filed cases against Nithyananda for fraud.

If the video is authentic, it acts as direct evidence:

  • That any cases against Lenin for extortion are suspect, and
  • for  Nithyananda’s character and past actions, and lies of both Nithyananda, Ranjitha and the sangha.

The latter are important considerations in Arathi Rao’s case where Nithyananda is on record saying that there’s no way he could have even had sex, with claims as varied as:

  • “I’m a Sannyasi” to
  • “I was in Samadhi at the time, I don’t know what was happening to me” and
  • “I have the testosterone levels of a 6 year old boy” (actually way lower than that with his claims of 12ng/dL– a suspicious level considering his markedly masculine features and development, let alone even for clinical hypogonadism) to
  • “I don’t even really know that girl that well”

in an attempt to make it like he has no interest in sex. The tape is direct evidence against all of his claimed defenses.

It does not really matter whether Lenin is the good guy whistleblower or if both Nithyananda and Lenin were once in cahoots and something turned sour.

It does not matter in this specific instance if it turns out Vinay is actually a pedophile (although his appeal documents have some very interesting counter-information) and Arathi is just an opportunistic criminal, too (though we find it highly unlikely she is given all we know).

What matters to you, the devotee or the potential program attendee, is that the video that came out is real. The above confession, the multiple FSL reports, and even Primeau’s analysis (if you don’t misrepresent his statements), indicate that the original video is probably authentic (not necessarily the one he recieved from Life Bliss Foundation).

No doubt the above media will receive notices on Youtube to be taken down. Forget about the higher-ups and what they think about it.

The very fact that they make copyright claims on that video instead of suing for defamation should give you pause to think.

If you heard that conversation and recognise his voice, you now know Nithyananda can lie with a sociopathic lack of remorse, and smile brightly and charm you while doing it.

So every claim Nithyananda has uttered since 2010 should come crumbling down in your mind.

If you still don’t believe it, reporting the video is not going to help you. Enough people on the internet have it, and many thousands have heard it. It was heard by even more people many years ago before it was taken down.
