Why Does Nithyanandas Birth Date Matter?
In the West it’s not so uncommon for a woman to fib about her age, we accept that from someone a bit vain trying to hold onto something she had.
However, should we accept that from someone claiming to be enlightened, let alone claiming to be the Avatar? If one were truly enlightened, then certainly any element of being vain would be non-existent and telling a porkie would be completely unnecessary and also contrary to the foundational principles of the Vedas.
So it should be quite apparent to any reader at this point that if Nithyananda is the Avatar, or even enlightened, he would not lie about his birthdate. The question thus becomes, did he?
It’s time to examine the evidence. If you are a devotee you owe it to yourself to examine this. If the evidence does not stand up to scrutiny, you have lost nothing. However, if the evidence does indicate he has lied, surely you then need to find out from him why. Do you not? Or would you be content being deluded in a maya matrix?
Nithyanandas Birth Date According to Nithyananda
Nithyananda most commonly uses 1st of January 1978 as his birthdate.
Nithananda’s Real Birth Date
Most would of course accept that ones passport is the surest identification of a persons birth date (arguably after his actual birth certificate). And a Visa application is so undeniably linked with ones passport that the birth dates must match. It is thus extremely interesting that on April 2, 2007, Nithyananda Swami had his Visa cancelled with prejudice as it showed a birth date of 13th March 1977 while he was publicly claiming it to be 1st January 1978. Of course the 1977 date must have linked with his passport which in turn must link with his birth certificate of Tiru Rajasheka (Nithyanandas birth name).
It should be safe then to assume that his real birth date is 13th March 1977. It does however, leave us with the question of why he sees a need to change it to 1978.
NITHANANDA NOW HAS A THIRD BIRTH DATE
As if juggling two birthdates is not enough, when Nithyananda obtained test results allegedly on his own blood to have a result returned of testosterone of a 6yo boy he added some other anomalies. Firstly his changed legal name from Tiru Rajasheka is Sri Nithyananda Swami as is evident on recent court documents. However, the test sample has the name “Nithyanandji Swami”. Other basic detials are incorrect if the blood sample is actually that of Sri Nithyananda Swami, no address is provided and no fathers name is provided.
This information was reported in the blog nithyananda-faq dot blogspot dot com/2012/10/aarthi-rao-responds-to-nithyanandas.html
However, most notably the birthdate is shown as 2nd Sept 1978. So we now have 3 dates for Nithyanandas birth date:
- Legal birth date according to passport of 13th March 1977
- Claimed birthdate by Nithyananda of 1st January 1978
- Blood test birth date of 2nd September 1978
If you are going to lie Nithyananda, at least be consistent about it, otherwise you not only appear dishonest, but very stupid!
Yet below his visa shows 13th of March 1977
Surely you can see the problem here?

How old is Nithyananda? He claims he was born Janaury 1, 1978 making him 39. One of his revoked Visa Passports said his birthday was March 13, 1977. The two top links above indicate he would actually be 42 and was born in 1975. Nothing adds up.
But Wait! There’s more! A forth birth date
As if its not enough to have three, now we a forth according to nithyananda-cult dot blogspot dot com/2009/10/nithyananda-show-us-your-birth.html “we have you also telling some close devotees recall that you said in June 2004 on a train trip from Banglore to Dheli in route to the first Himalaya tour, that your biological birthday was sometime in June, 1978. Nithyananda, you said that you just rolled both of them up (both your birthday and our ‘enlightenment’ day) into one day to make it easier for everyone”
Why Nithyananda wants 1st January 1978 for his Birth Date
The answer to this probably comes from Nithyanandas desire to be like his favourite gurus. It is suggested here by nithyananda-cult dot blogspot dot com
Sri Nithyananda, do you remember telling us in your book, Glimpses of My Master, Nithyananda, first ‘first’ (original) edition December 2005 on pages 87-91 that you were born on January 1, 1978 at 0:30 (12:30 a.m.) in Thiruvannamalai? Why of course you do, because you cannot really change this information now that you committed to it on print. Sri Nithyananda, looks like you listed all of the other ‘enlightened’ masters and sages that were also born in the Tamil month of Margazhi (December – January) (pp. 88-89). Were you riding on their coattails? Why on page 89 did you also mention Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh – nithyananda-cult dot blogspot dot com/2009/11/osho-bhagwan-shree-rajneesh-influences.html) as one of these sages? Do you really think that Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) is on the same level as Ramana Maharishi and Vivekananda? I imagine you will say, “Yes.” Your ‘enlightenment’ sure has some interesting insights.
In summary Nithyanandas lies have become so great that he cannot help but for them to catch up with him and swamp him. His birthdate is clearly not what he says it is and any justifcations now from him to say “its my enlightement date” or whatever else will be dwarfed by the plethora of lies about to be uncovered in the criminal court cases against him, including charges of rape.
